Get Relief From Headaches

There is much that is conventional in the way that osteopaths are trained and taught to practice. We can make conventional diagnoses that seek to establish WHAT has gone wrong.. 👀

But osteopaths want to know WHY it is not right! This is when we refer to the 'Art within the Science' 🍃✨💕. We appreciate that every person is completely individual in the way that they are built and designed with a history of different diets, lifestyles and injury histories. As well as emotional factors!

When you choose to visit an osteopath NO TWO TREATMENTS will ever be the same 😮! Osteopaths have a vast array of skills and techniques that can be tailored specifically to suit an individual on any given day. Always done in a way that is most appropriate for you and your body!

The structure of the body simply refers to the anatomical framework that gives it form. 🤸‍♂️ However all of anatomy is in constant dynamic motion. The heart beats and the ribcage expands with every breath we take. All parts of the body are intelligently designed to perform a specific function. 🍃🌊

Just like a machine, if one part is out of place, it will wear or fail to perform it's purpose. Disease is an effect of a change in the parts of the physical body.

Therefore, when FORM and FUNCTION are perfectly expressed, health emerges. 🙂💞

The human body is always working to maintain a state of balanced function. ⚖️. This unity exists through complex interrelationships of all body systems (musculoskeletal, nervous, digestive etc.) working together synchronistically and coherently to bring about health and well-being.

This is the fundamental difference between osteopathic and conventional training. The focus on unity, as opposed to breaking the body down into separate parts. 💖✨

Did you know..? 👀 That from the second an osteopath starts training, they begin their life-long journey of honing their sense of touch and developing their palpation skills? 🙌

This is not something that can be taught over a weekend and in fact takes years to develop. Patients are often surprised what we can feel and pick up on with the gentlest of touch! 🙏

Osteopathy is a truly HANDS ON therapy with many reported benefits to your health and well-being

There is much that is conventional within osteopathic practice 🤓👩‍⚕️.

We are taught to diagnose, understand and use conventional clinical methods to form a conventional medical diagnosis! 👍

You can be confident in knowing that any osteopath you see in New Zealand has undertaken 5 years of intensive medical and clinical training in order to achieve a well-rounded science degree. This is held to a high standard by our regulating body 'The Osteopathic Council of NZ'.

Did you know??...👀

▪️It is in fact an offense to call yourself an osteopath unless you are registered with the OCNZ!

▪️Osteopathic training includes more than 1,000 hours of osteopathic techniques and at least 1,000 hours of supervised clinical experience.

▪️The Medical Association's guidance for GPs states that doctors can safely refer patients to osteopaths 👍

▪️Osteopathy is recommended by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) for lower back pain.
